Palmetto State Loves Palermo's

Did you know South Carolina has a sister state in Italy? Well, when you read the results from a recent Charleston Post and Courier public taste test, it seems obvious. Primo Thin Margherita and Grilled Chicken Caesar varieties were sampled and South Carolinians loved the authentic Italian taste. Here's a comment from a satisfied tester:

"Tasty, fresh, crunchy ... SO, No more mouths filled with DOUGH!"

Best Pizza Ever
It could be the famous pie of legendary chef Raffaele Esposito of Naples that so impressed beloved Queen Margarita on her visit to the city in 1889. Or maybe the first real deep dish that came out of Chicago in the '40s. Might it be Palermo's Prim Thin?

We've got to be delusional to think a frozen pizza could be mentioned in a group like this, right? Well maybe, but consider this, Palermo's Primo Thin was just awarded the Gold Medal by The American Masters of Taste. Headed by world-famous Chef Jesse Sartain, and employing rigorous "triple-blind" testing protocol, the Primo Thin was judged to have "Superior Taste" in the category.

Maybe it's not as famous as the above pizzas, but when a frozen pie gets awards like this, it aspires to higher competition.
