Palermo's and NASCAR Team up in Chicago on July 11

Drivers start your engines!
Palermo's is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series sponsor! This Saturday, we will be sponsoring the #36 car of Tommy Baldwin Racing, driven by Mike Skinner at the Lifelock.com 400 at the Chicagoland Speedway.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to team Palermo's Pizza with Tommy Baldwin Racing for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Chicago speedway," said Giacomo Fallucca, President and CEO Palermo's Pizza. "Chicago is a very important market for our frozen pizzas and one where we have been growing by leaps and bounds over the past year. This partnership with Tommy Baldwin Racing provides us with a great opportunity to spread the word about Palermo's pizzeria-quality frozen pizzas to NASCAR fans, the people of Illinois and the Midwest as a whole."

"We’re proud to have Palermo's Pizza on the car this weekend at Chicago," said Tommy Baldwin. "It's important for us to look for partners that share our team's commitment in quality and pride. Palermo's Pizza is a terrific company with a rich history and we look forward to working with them this weekend and in years to come."

Frozen Pizza: A Healthy Dinner?
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 3:48 PM
posted by Erin Hobday

I got home from work the other night exhausted. It had been a stressful day, and I had a million things to get done before I went to sleep. There was no way the veggie burger/steamed vegetables/brown rice dinner I had planned on was going to happen--by that point it was about all I could do to stop myself from digging into the carton of ice cream I had in the freezer!

Instead, I popped a Palermo's Primo Thin ultra thin-crust frozen pizza in the oven. It only took about ten minutes to bake and even though it tasted rich and delicious, I had to remind myself that there was no need to feel guilty--at under 300 calories per serving (which really is big enough), and with 14g of protein and only 12g of fat, Palermo's thin-crust pizza is pretty much the healthiest "unhealthy" meal ever!

So I got to eat something indulgent without breaking the calorie bank--the best of both worlds. I tried the Margherita flavor, but they make all kinds of gourmet-sounding varieties like Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese and Grilled Chicken Caesar.

How do you avoid a calorie binge at the end of a long day? If you've tried Palermo's Primo Thin pizza, which kind is your favorite? I have a feeling I'll be making another one tonight . . .
