At Palermos Pizza, we have a long history of depending on the land. Going back to the rich soil our founder Gapare and his wife Zina worked back in Sicily to the great farms of the American Midwest we depend on today for the fresh ingredients in our gourmet frozen pizzas, we owe a great deal to the planet, and the wonderful gifts it's given us through the years. As such, we are a company committed to environmental sustainability. Here are just a few ways in which we voluntarily limit our ecological impact:
Recycling program:
- All discarded paper stock and cardboard is recycled.
- All plastic from both employee use such as water or soda bottles and production is compressed, bundled and recycled.
- All rejected materials from our bakery are recycled and made into high quality animal feeds.
These beliefs were paramount in the design of our headquarters and factory: Villa Palermo. Design Highlights:
- Facility built on a reclaimed brown-field area.
- All office lighting is motion activated.
- Grounds use low-mow / no-water grasses.
- Skylights provide natural light reducing electrical use.
